One day he was at samoa where he found an elderly man who was a Tongatau Mata'u ( which was Tonga the expert fisherman). Maui asked him the man about fishing. The man told maui to follow him . The man showed Maui 8 different hooks . He picked one instead of picking the fash and nice ones he picked the one that was rusted and looked like it has been used. Maui asked the man what he would he give in return , he said when you find a island name it after me Tonga. Maui went fishing as he threw the hook in it felt like a whale pulling it but it wasn't it was even bigger than that it was an island . Maui named the island Tonga and that's how to he tonga ( the island ) got its name....
