We have also been learning about the past and now.We have been learning what is special about Pasifika people in Aotearoa.

Why do people use waka's

.What Is a Waka for?

Waka is for Maori people to use to travel to different countries.

2.What was a Waka made out of?

Some waka’s are made by hard things like wood.

3.What is Missing with the waka?

It is a paddle.

4.What is the paddle used for?

The paddle is use for the waka because you have to paddle it to the direction you are aiming to.

5.What happens if you don’t have a paddle.

If you don’t have a paddle the boat will go to a different direction. It can cause trouble it if you don’t have one.

The last few weeks we have been learning about tivaevae. it is a cook island story.I have been learning that cook islanders are making tivaevae's for wedding,Birthdays and other special occasion

Tivai means to sew or patch the spelling tivaivai has carried on for many years to
 island to island in new zealand it is pronounced tivaevae
